Quota Fund/Friend Raisers for 2015

Quota is working hard to raise funds that will be used to help the deaf and hard of hearing and make a difference in the lives of many people in our community.

Our Fin/Fun committee has proposed three major 2015 fundraisers for Quota this year. Planning for the first one is already underway. Our popular ‘Show Me the Money” 50/50 raffle is back!  Chair Pam H. has applied for the raffle license and is busy making plans with her committee. Ticket sales will start on March 19 and continue until April 16 when a winning ticket will be drawn at our annual Installation Banquet. We hope all members and Quota friends will support this great event by buying tickets.  You never know–one of you might be the big winner this year!!

Our annual Duck Walk will be held in September. Co-chairs Martha H. and Sandi A. have plans for some new and exciting changes this year. And our final major fundraiser will be our annual Barnes & Noble Book Fair which will be held in November. Chairs Lisa B. and Pat C. are sure to have fun things planned. So watch the blog for more details as planning begins!

Please remember that Koeze’s products can be purchased year-round and the proceeds help us fund our service projects. Valentine’s Day is a great time for a Koeze treat.

And finally, Amazon Smile is always a great way to help out by just hitting a key on your computer. Visit www.smile.amazon.com, select Quota Grand Rapids Charitable Foundation as your chosen charity and a portion of all your Amazon purchases will help us help others.

Your support in all fundraising endeavors is much appreciated! Leave a message for us if you would like to join in the fun!

50/50 Raffle and what you need to know

Robin sent out an email that she shared with her friends and family to help sell her tickets. This is an easy and effective way to reach out to many of your contacts. Here is what she said and shared (feel free to use this!):

Quota International of Grand Rapids is holding a 50/50 cash raffle on May 16 as a fundraiser for our service projects to help the deaf and hard of hearing and disadvantaged women and children. Tickets are $5 each or 3 for $10. You do not need to be present to win nor do you need to live in West Michigan!

Let me know if you are interested in purchasing tickets to help with this fundraiser.

 Thanks!

It must be working because Robin has sold over a hundred tickets!

Who will win the prize for selling the most this year? Will it be Robin, or could it be you?

Book Fair with Barnes & Noble

Quota of GR it’s time to spread the word about our Book Fair at Barnes & Noble!!!

There are a couple of different ways to share information about our Book Fair.

  • click here to print vouchers (print as many as you want)
  • click here to print a flyer with vouchers
  • click here for a flyer that you can print and hang in your office, church, grocery store, hair salon, bank and wherever else you can think of!

We will have printed copies available at our October 18th meeting. In the meantime start sharing these vouchers with EVERYONE you know!

Hand these out to friends, family and neighbors so that as they begin their holiday shopping at B&N they can help us raise money! Shop at ANY store on November 10th, use a voucher at the checkout, and a percent of the sale goes toward our fundraiser (please note: these are not coupons and stores appreciate the customer using a voucher, not just our #).

Shop online between November 10th-15th and use our book fair #10895399 at the checkout and we receive a percent of the sale!

Our book fair number is printed on all of the flyers/vouchers above. Please urge everyone to use a voucher.

Drum Roll Please…

What a wonderful Thursday night celebrating Quota’s 50/50 raffle!

Sue

There was bling everywhere from the walls to the shawls celebrating our successful fundraising efforts.  During the counting of the tickets, the members thoroughly enjoyed a rousing game of Bingo with special, unique, one-of-a-kind prizes.

The drum roll started and our waitress, Barb, at Centennial Country Club, had the honor of selecting the winning ticket.  Silence loomed the room and the name was called…

Thank you to Pam H. and her committee for a terrific event!

2011 Shopping Extravaganza Fundraiser

The Committee for the Shopping Extravaganza will meet on Thursday, November 10th at noon at the restaurant at the Holiday Inn on Pearl Street. This is our follow-up meeting. If you have comments or suggestions you would like to share and can’t make the meeting, please email or call Robin or Peggy. They would be happy to hear from you! In the meantime, here are some photos of the event (look for final numbers soon)

Cathy and her niece look at the handmade jewelry.

Maureen stops to shop at the Thirty One gifts table and Kirsten tells her about the fantastic special of the month.

Joyce brought her supplies and worked on a painting throughout the day.

The Delta Zeta’s worked the Quota table and were a big help all around.

Joyce takes a break from painting and stops to chat with Marty and the Longaberger table.

Several shoppers (including Quotarians Pam G. and Peggy) wander around the handmade jewelry table.

Thanks to Pat for taking these pictures, to the Committee and all those who helped at the event and with setup/take down. We couldn’t have done it without you!
